L-Ascorbic Acid and pure Retinol degrade rapidly in the presence of water, dissolved oxygen, and UV radiation (traditional dropper bottles oxidize within 30 days of opening). Yanmei encapsulates these actives within 100% anhydrous (water-free) lipid carriers (such as plant squalane, meadowfoam seed oil, and caprylic/capric triglyceride) inside hermetically sealed nitrogen-blanketed softgel shells. This eliminates headspace oxygen and prevents hydrolytic degradation.

Our softgel shells are plant-starch based, with no animal gelatin. Formulas can be built against retailer clean-beauty lists (such as Credo or Sephora Clean) on request.

Our modified vegan shell formulations incorporate cross-linking plasticizers that elevate the shell glass transition temperature (Tg). The capsules pass rigorous stability cycling tests: -20°C to +45°C across 85% relative humidity for 90 days with zero shell agglomeration (sticking together), zero oil sweating, and zero embrittlement.
